LYSISTRATA

Location

LeFevre Theatre, Saint Marys' College of California

Date

April 2016

Role

Director

A raucous, righteous, radical production of Aristophanes' classic comedy. Costumes were 70s-styled - "Greek Chic" dresses and Rollerball-inspired soldier's uniforms. The cast danced and sang to Edwin Starr's "War." A massive, impossibly tilted Greek temple loomed over the action, symbolizing the carnivalesque toppling of the established order. A celebration of activist imagination and laughter's political explosivity.
